Nolan Switch Point Protector |
New Series -- Nolan’s switch point protector increases the service life of switch points by absorbing the impact of passing railcar wheels. The protector momentarily deflects the wheel flange so that it misses the tip of the switch point. Made from manganese steel, the switch point protector actually gets stronger with each deflection. The protector is reversible, so that when it becomes worn on one side, it can be turned around and remounted, doubling its service life. Designed to bolt securely to the inside straight main rail that leads to the switch. Nolan’s switch point protectors come with a manganese steel face plate and shim, two track bolts and nuts, and two spring washers.
NOTE: The mounting position of any switch point protector may vary according to speed and traffic conditions on the track. The Nolan Company recommends reviewing the installation instructions that accompany all of Nolan's maintenance-of-way products.
